I think it's between 3 and 5 percent.

Reply:Anyone knows using any kind of alcohol on your skin will cause it to dry out, badly. To consume however, whoa!
Reply:you can check out the soap dish forum, they might be able to help. they are great, you can ask anyhting and someone will answer it for you
Reply:15-20% of ethanol should be enough to inhibit bacterial and fungal growth. Your container will need to be tightly sealed as the ethanol will evaporate rather quickly.
Reply:In the lab, it is known that 70-85% ethanol is the best DISINFECTANT. Anything more than that usually disenfects but not as well as 70%. The more commonly percentages used in the lab is 95% and 70% ethanol. The percent you use to preserve might depend on what the skin care product is made out of. If it's a petroleum based product 95% might work as long as it's dense enough. Alcohol may dilute/dissolve your product so you might want to do some reading on the ingredients of your product and reactions with alcohol/ethanol.
