Does anyone else besides me have a hard time deciding what skin care products to buy?

I mean there's so many different kinds to choose from. There's a cream for this and a serum for that, buy the time you get to the check out line you have about 10 items.

How do you know which ones you need and what your don't.

Does anyone else besides me have a hard time deciding what skin care products to buy?
I have found out hundreds of dollars later, Noxema is the best! The old fashion Noxema!
Reply:Omg I have the worst time trying to figure out what products to buy. I've used clean and clear , Neutrogena, Noxzema, Aveeno and damn near everything else you could think of I have found that the best products for me are the Mary Kay time-wise collection and Proactive.
Reply:never had that problem as i never buy them
Reply:I have very sensitive skin and i am alergic to alot of skin products. I usually buy Aveeno or Keri lotion and I buy only products that my mom knows and approves to!
Reply:omg - i really thought i was the only one

i am SO sick of the false advertisements -

oil of olay is very good - used that most of my life -

i now use prescription stuff - but as a young girl - i really believed in their stuff

good luck
Reply:You are so right about having a hard time to decide. I hate that every few months there's something new in the stores and every month in the magazines, they are boasting a new product.

I think if you have someone close to you that you've seen the products working for them would be a good test to see if its good for you. Or you can just go to the dermatologist and get an individualized consultation on products good for you.
Reply:Its definitely tough. I really like neutrogena for face wash, and almay for moisturizers and toners. However, I am always looking for new things to try.
Reply:Mary Kay has lots of different products for all skin types but each product helps you skin in different ways. To find out which skin care products click the link below.
Reply:I definitely do- there are so many products to choose from! Unless you have problem-skin, all you really need is a gentle face-wash, moisturizer/eye-cream, and daily sunscreen.

Dermatologists will always say Cetaphil Gentle Daily Cleanser is the hands-down best cleanser there is because it is so gentle. However, if you have oily or acne-prone skin, you will probably want something more like Clean %26amp; Clear Foaming Facial Cleanser. Similarly, Cetaphil isn't great for removing makeup, for which you might have better luck with a foaming face wash. I personally use Aveeno Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser.

Next, you will need a great moisturizer- it is not necessary to buy a seperate eye cream as long as the one you have will not irritate your eye area if you dab it around there. I love Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, but if you are looking for something less expensive, try Dove or Olay brands, which are great.

Finally, it is important to apply sunscreen everyday. The easiest way to do this is to get a daily moisturizer which includes at least an SPF 15. Try Dove Facial Lotion SPF 15, or for more protection Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 30. Apply these to your face, neck, chest and the backs of your hands to prevent skin damage and premature aging!

These 3 items cover the basics- some other products that are nice to have but not necessary are an exfoliating cleanser (St. Ives Apricot Scrub is a popular favorite) and zit cream to treat random blemishes.

Overall, I would say you can rarely go wrong when you choose products by Cetaphil, Aveeno or Olay.
Reply:No I don't have any problems with choosing my skin care products. I keep it basic %26amp; simple. You don't have to spend a lot of $$$ just make sure your products are suited for your skin type %26amp; skin issues. Most product lines a fine. I cleanse with cleanser, right now I'm using Oil of Olay Total Effects cleanser $6, 2x a day. Then I use Alpha-Hydrox (anti-aging) Oil of Olay daily glowing moisturer (day) And Most Important Sunscreen. Night Cleanse, then once or twice week I use Aloette's warming pumpkin mask. My night time moisturer is Anew Line %26amp; Wrinkle Corrector, it makes your skin sooooo smooth. I don't purchase an eye cream b/c they're really expensive but I do use my moisturizer around my eyes. I choose my products because they're inexpensive %26amp; mainly b/c they smell good. The one product I never change is the Alpha-Hydrox, I've been using it for 14 yrs %26amp; my skin has cleared up dramatically. I'm 39 %26amp; I have no lines, wrinkles, or blemishes to speak of. And my skin was terrible before. Always, always wear sunscreen %26amp; never ever tan. Other than that you should be fine. It's basically a matter of preference. I would never spend crazy $$ on products even if I could afford it, they aren't really better. But if you start early %26amp; take care of your skin you will never regret it. You will be beautiful. Good Luck.
Reply:I did until I found out about the web site www.makeupalley.com It is a site that people go there and rate products. Before I purchase makeup, face creams etc... I go there and see what others say about it.
Reply:im sorry for the stupid question but is that mary kay stuff basicly just for girls because i was reading some of it and it says stuff about how some of it helps the acne but it was saying stuff about using it with makeup and stuff
Reply:I know what you are talking about!!! I usually try to get the facial scrub of some sort and then find a daily moisturizer with SPF.
Reply:Why don't you get a skin care analysis and then you'll know what products are best for you?

Reply:ME TOO!!

I usually go back home %26amp; do some research on the net. You can do some research on http://www.Amazon.com . Find the one suits you by reading the product's reviews/feedbacks or you can see their ratings. Pick the one that has higher ratings! If you can't find the product on Amazon. Google '[product's name] reviews'. If you still can't find it, Google again '[product's name] feedbacks'. That's my trick! Works for me!! That's why all products that I'm using now works just as described!

GOOD LUCK!!
Reply:It is quite frustrating! You need one for your oily face, you need one for dryness...I think noxema works great, netrogena works well. and so does clean and clear.

But i dont know if it is just my weird face, but sometimes they dont work at all, and my face has to get over it by itself. weird!

Hope u find what you want!!!

Reply:Well, most drugstore brands test on animals, which is a big no-no for me. St. Ives, however doesn't..and I love their skincare products. Or I just drive over to my Whole Foods Market and buy natural skincare products from them.
